I should really read back in the blog to see where life was last August when I last posted. I can't even fathom how much things have changed. Let's take a blind shot at this and see...
I think it's safe to say that Charlie has changed the most from August to May. He is now almost 17 months old. He walks and runs everywhere. He climbs on everything! Speaking of climbing, I had one of my more terrifying mom moments when I walked into the living room to see him standing on the TV table hugging our large TV. Within about 20 minutes I had moved the TV to a taller table and ordered a bracket to mount the TV on the wall. This was not a problem I had with Wyatt...
Charlie can also climb up their swingset "park" all by himself and then slides down the slide on his belly all by himself. He's brave. Probably too brave.
Charlie is chatty. Much more so than Wyatt was at this age. Charlie waves to everyone and strikes up random conversation in the store with any passerby.
Words and Phrases
There are so many words and sounds and phrases Charlie makes that I can't even begin to try and type out phonetically... You just have to hear them to realize what they are and how adorably sweet they are. Here are a view obvious.com words and phrases.
"I stuck. I stuck. I stuck." Over and over again while he's trapped in his highchair but has finished eating.
"I-ish-I-hah-dah." While watching TV and seeing a commercial for a toy that apparently, he wishes he had.
"Rooooo!" The boys LOVE Max and Ruby.

Charlie loves music and loves to dance. He loves music from the Bubble Guppies or any music that comes through the radio. He has an impressive shimmy that starts from his shoulders and moves to his hips. Also, adorable.
The newest tidbit I have on Charlie is that he really dislikes doctors. Looking back, I believe this started in the womb. Charlie was so hard to get ahold of in utero. He was always dodging the doctor and nurses and giving me panic attacks as they were always searching for his heartbeat. Even during labor, he was somewhat elusive and kept as questioning right up until his surprise sunny-side-up delivery.
This dislike of doctor's was magnified by a LOT when we had a random visit to the ER on Saturday night because of a sudden labored breathing experience. That entire night is a post in and of itself that I will get to very soon. Needless to say, an ER experience with an anti-doctor baby was somewhat tense and required every loving and silly and creative mom experience that I have in my toolbelt. Good news: we are all alive.
In a nutshell, Charlie is so fun. He is silly and expressive in a way that I haven't had a lot of experience. Big brother Wyatt was always so serious and was always quiet and studying. Wyatt would sit and watch quietly to figure out what was going on and how things work. Charlie dives headfirst into everything and giggle and shimmy. Every child is different. True story.
